The Femme Cycle, produced by Sending Her Essentials Inc. (SHE), is an annual summer initiative dedicated to advancing menstrual health across West Africa.
In 2025, The Femme Cycle launches a 6-week Menstrual Health Training and Advocacy Program in Guinea, focused on addressing menstrual health challenges through education, community outreach and advocacy, and product distribution.
Participants — adolescent girls — engage in interactive lessons about puberty, menstruation, period product options, pain management, hygiene, disposal practices, and stigma reduction. Through creative workshops like ‘SHE Menstrual Kits’ making and period positivity activities, the program builds confidence, self-care skills, and menstrual literacy.
4 High-school students will be selected and trained as menstrual equity interns. These interns will then conduct community outreach efforts, distributing menstrual products and leading peer education sessions in partnered schools. This initiative promotes sustainable, youth-led solutions to dismantle stigma and ensure menstrual equity for all.
Together, The Femme Cycle champions a future where no girl is held back by her period.
